PALLIATIVE CARE
ESSENTIALS, September 9, 2010 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at
Ashworth by the Sea, 295 Ocean Blvd, Hampton, NH The intent of
this class is to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to effective
palliative care for patients and caregivers. Topics include
spirituality, pain control, symptom management, case studies, mending
broken hearts, and compassion fatigue. There will be a panel

NHHPCO is committed to a vision that focuses on
promoting access for New Hampshire Residents to excellent end of life
care. Along with raising public awareness about the many quality
programs in our state, we support excellent care by providing ongoing
education to professionals. Look to this page for listings of upcoming

The
National Board for Certification of Hospice
and Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN®) offers
credentialing in this specialty for all levels of nursing (APN,
Generalist Nurse, LP/VN, Nursing Assistant) and the Administrator. The
Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Association (HPNA) promotes training
and resources to prepare for this certification.NHHPCO works with
local, certified trainers to provide HPNA review and preparation courses
for New Hampshire RNs and LNAs. Dates will be posted soon for April

Content of each exam is derived from a validated job analysis,
reflecting current practice across the country, for both hospice and
non-hospice palliative care settings. These job analyses, also known as
role delineation studies, produce the test content outlines as listed in
the
Candidate Handbook.
